Electric Forest.

Oh, Electric Forest. By far the best festival I have ever been to. The pure joy and beauty this festival brings to everyone is unmatched. It is so much more than just a festival. And what I mean by that is you can literally have the best day of your life and not go see a single act that is playing. I first attended this festival the first weekend of 2017 and it was so good that I drove all the way home and decided to come back for the second weekend to do it again! I’ve created such a strong friend group through this festival. People that I talk to every single day and truly care about, it’s a beautiful thing. Now the festival itself is just there to create these beautiful moments day in and day out. Creating the most adventurous opportunities.

Here’s a short story,
So back in 2017, the second weekend. I went with just me, my cousin, and our friend Joe (triple-threat-trio) There was a small quest in “The Hanger” which is a building with a ton of different cool activities in there. It is very carnival themed. As soon as you walk in there are ladies greeting you with boxes of candy for you to grab. Separate rooms to the left and right where you can get a massage (picture on the top right), a place to get your hair done, fake tattoos, small bowling allies, pool tables, everyone that works there is all dressed up fitting and acting the theme so well. We’re walking through and exploring the place, hearing that a “dog tag” with a number on the back gets you into a secret room. We quickly realized that there was a professional pool player playing pool against people and noticed that he was the dog tag on. One way to retrieve. We then realized that it was way too hard to beat him so we decided to start asking people that work there other ways to find one. We decided to talk to our guy in the “Trading Post” which is a building where merchants will bring there big collections of trade-able items such as necklaces, pins, stones etc. He said “come back and I will have one for you guys later.” So we went on with our day and came back. We bartered with him and he gave us the dog tag. We were probably one in twenty people that had a dog tag. On the back, like I said, there was a number to text for the “password”. We get the password and now we head back to the hanger and try and figure out what the fuck we do with it now. SO. We find this hidden room in the hanger with a little telephone booth secluded off into the corner and we go in it and there is a note that says scan here so one of us goes up and scans a wristband and the telephone starts ringing… We pick up and its a woman, she goes “ Hello, can I help you?” and we said the password that was given to us and I swear to god one of the walls of the telephone booth literally opened and there she was.. Welcomed us through this dark hallway into this speakeasy with only like 15 people in there… One including Waka Flaka Flame… Just sitting down hanging out. I grabbed a drink and took a seat. Note: I had a nice 2 gram backwood in my hand ready to smoke. A gentleman comes up to me and goes, “Aye I’m Waka’s personal blunt roller.. We’ve been looking for some backwoods! Are you trying to smoke with us?” At this point I sat back and thought what the fuck is going on right now! I responded, “Yea if he’s down I’ll smoke one with y’all.” He asked him but Waka wasn’t trying to.. Weird that the guy came and asked me. Wish Waka would’ve been down. Just crazy that the guy even asked me. But yea, then the night just got started from there….

Just that one little story goes to show you how many things you can get into without even going to see the artists you came for! That is partly why I think Electric Forest is one of the best festivals on the planet and the best one I’ve been to so far!

Thank you for reading! Most Electric Forest stories coming soon.
